In 1877 this Morton Bay Fig Tree was planted in Santa Barbara, California. It is believed to be the largest of it’s kind in the U.S. & stands 167 feet wide and 76 feet tall.

Located next to the train station & freeway near the town center, this amazing tree has survived over 100 years of numerous cultures, onslaughts of tourists, homeless campers, smog, cigarette butts, trash & many carvings upon it’s glorious roots & trunk.
